Welcome Reception, Wednesday 24 September
Uppsala University hosts the reception and get-together on Wednesday 24 September in the Uppsala University Main Building (the conference venue). A drink and a light snack is served, with start at 18:00 in the foyer.
Conference Dinner, Thursday 25 September
We gather together for a three course meal served at Restaurant Hyllan at Saluhallen (“market hall”), situated by the River Fyris in central Uppsala. The building was severly damaged in a fire in 2002, but carefully rebuilt and renovated. It still hosts some market sales of meat and fish, but also several restaurants for coffee, lunch and dinner.

Post-conference Guided walk, 27 September
On Saturday we offer an organized guided walk.
The tour starts outside the entrance of the Uppsala University Main Building (the conference venue) at 10.00 and lasts until 13.00.
It is not far to walk, the university, Gustavianum and the entrance of the cathedral are all within 300 metres from each other. There are though many interesting sights inside and outside in the university park to stop and talk about. Comfortable shoes are recommended! The number of available tickets is limited.
- Price: SEK 300+ VAT (total SEK 375) including professional guide and entrance fees.
Meet Hans Odöö, a guide with knowledge and humour! He will tell about the oldest university in Scandinavia and it´s famous 18th century scientists; Linnaeus, who wrote about breastfeeding(!); Celsius of the centigrade and Rosén von Rosenstein who was a Swedish physician and the founder of modern pediatrics as well as the author of “The diseases of children, and their remedies”.
We will hear more about these men in the university museum, Gustavianum, but also about the struggle of female scientists in Uppsala and experience the second oldest anatomical theatre in the world. You will see the runestones in the university park and hear about their secrets. In the largest cathedral in the Nordic countries you will hear fascinating stories of saints, kings, queens and Alfa Romeo!
